The In the Groove: Battle of the Bands presented 64 bands in October and November 2011 from throughout the Northeast in Round 1 of competition, taking place in New York City, Cambridge, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. Now in 2012, 16 finalists will go head to head in Cambridge Massachusetts to win some incredible awards including

-$1000 gift certificate to Sam Ash Music

-Featured set at the legendary Symphony Hall in Boston, MA, home to the Boston Pops, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and regularly cited as one of the best music halls in all the world (Spring 2013)

-Management contract for 2012-13 US Tour opening for the Boston String Quartet. Dates to be determined, but including cities in DC, VT, IA, GA, TN, OH, FL, VA

-Music publishing contract for one book with Groove Publishing. Book shall include up to eight original musical compositions by the winning band, and shall be available for commercial purchase in stores and in online marketplaces.
